Want to get into snowboarding but running into a language barrier? Fret not, there's a logic to much of the lingo tossed around the ski lodge and you pick it up as you go along.

There are United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA)- sanctioned events nearly every weekend in Michigan, and these are the best places to get noticed by a potential sponsor, said Veleska Novorolsky, who rode for K2 in the 1998 Winter X-Games.
